I was feeling fatigued going into this race, but still intent on doing a few things. I ended pulling out of the race after something went wrong with my left leg. I may have strained something. This may be the end of any hopes of doing well at the Wendy's crits. On the other hand, it may give me some time to recoup and refocus as I get ready for an end of the season push.
We'll see what happens.
While I was sitting down contemplating things a local reporter came up to me and started asking me questions as he turned on his recorder. Even though I was a bit dismayed about the injury, it was nice to answer a few questions about why I do this. It really made me think about things on the way home. We don't get paid to do this, but it is addictive and that is probably what was really causing my mood to go south after a rare occcasion of having to pull out of the race.
