Wet course, small field. Attack from the gun and don't look back. Ride the course like it's dry. A guy bridged up to my solo break and tried to cut deals. Made sure I took the prime for sure then. Came down to a two up sprint and lead it out. Threw my bike at the finish and beat the guy clearly by two inches at least. But, Tim Tyler's gang said they couldn't even put tape on the road to mark a finish line and had to use a cone for the finish and they couldn't decide to use the front half of the cone or the center of the cone as the deciding factor. They stated that because of these conditions they couldn't decide a winner. So I came out a TIED for first result... HOw can you tie for first? They even said the camera angle was bad couldn't decide a winner because of that... Very interesting how a line on the road would have decided everything!!

My first crit in the rain. It's amazing how hard you can hit corners on wet pavement! The Loveland course is pretty technical. If you are bad in one of the 8 corners, you are out of contention. For me, it was corner #1: a nastly little narrow thing just after a downhill run into the start finish area. Throw in wet brakes with no stopping power and I became overly-cautious on the approach to the turn. That cost me a lot after a few laps. I finished the race, but I was just playing around among the riders off the back of the main field. A total of 17 started, the main field was down to 6 by the end of the race.
